and now for my monthly dose of est magazine. the australian mag pulled out a scandinavian twist for their fourth issue, and i adore it… i think the scando side of europe is going to have to be the next stop in my travels, even if just for their interior stores! although, i wouldn’t be able to send any furniture home, so maybe it’s not a great idea.
i guess i’ll just stick to the magazines for now…
i know this is a little late, being feb and all, but the january edition of rue magazine totally tickles my fancy!
there are two ridiculously gorgeous interiors featured this (last) month that i just had to share. one being the home of a graphic designer-slash-photographer, and one of a classy little manhattan couple. each completely different, but both absolutely beautiful. i’m getting totally interior inspired again, and very upset about the blooming chavs that won 45 MILLION EUROS yesterday, when i know i could use that money on extremely important things… like my flat. or a new house that i could design from scratch. and of course world peace and saving all the homeless doggies…
first up- the home of danielle moss. an american graphic design-slash-photographer. her place is just so light and airy and totally serene. i love all the white with dashes of colour, and think this home has so much character…

ok… and now the home of a sassy manhattan couple. they show you how to make the most of a tiny little space, by keeping it homely and simple, making it seem double as spacious as it really is. keep an eye out for the space saving tricks…

i thought i’d start off 2012 of blogging by being grateful for making it through another year without a coconut falling on my head! as well as taking some time out to think about all the words of wisdom that came my way in 2011, and then, of course, share them with you! goodness it was a full and fabulous year!
11 things i learnt in 2011…
1. that stepping out of your comfort zone is the most rewarding feeling in the world
2. that you should find something that makes you happy, and do everything you can to keep it alive
3. that i can no longer do a handstand
4. that you can’t earn a million ronds over night, but hard work and a truckload of passion will get you where you need to be
5. that i finally know what i want to be when i grow up
6. that you can never do enough travelling
7. that i should never drink white wine…
8. how to say no
9. that joining the gym and getting fit isn’t all bad… it’s a good excuse to still be able to eat a few chockies!
10. that i can’t have everything i want (i’m still not dead set on that one…)
and most importantly-
11. that I can do anything i put my mind to
and here’s to 2012 being bigger and better… (clink clink clink)

so lately i’ve felt my back ache, my neck get stiff, my legs making that cracking sound a lot, and my hangovers… a lot more than usual! and the boyfriend replies to these complaints spoken thoughts by saying… ‘you’re not a spring chicken anymore!’
of course, he’s not a spring chicken at all. in fact, he’s a bloomin’ rooster! ok, so he’s only 31… but he sure does have a lot more complaints grievences spoken thoughts than i do (although he will totally disagree with that)!!!
and then i stumbled upon this little list over on belle’s blog, and realised that i’m not alone. and i truely, realistically, in actual fact, am not a spring chicken anymore.
imagine how depressed i’ll be when i turn TWENTY FIVE next year!!!
goodness help us all… i’m not a fan of the ageing process!
p.s. i’m not really that depressed. i love life. and this is not a suicidal post.
after a looooong craving, i finally made it down to the i heart market this last weekend. armed with 300 ronds and a need to find some funky accessories and jewels, i came out with a massive smile. not only did i come out with 40 bucks in change, sparked with creativity, i was also sparkling with goodies! and this is what i got…
the gorgeous heart ring was made my my friend daniela of daniela designed.
the beautiful ceramic heart was made by love inspired.
the cute little doggie and heart brooches were made by taken ceramics.
and lastly, the rings where made by a lovely girl named sophie!
i honestly could’ve walked out of there with a million other things, but i had to save something for this weekend! yup! you heard me! it’s on AGAIN this weekend!!!! so get down there!!!
